Sweet Tides

Last Thursday Raych and I hung around beautiful Laguna Beach and decided to take some photos. Life is constant battle with the sun and this was no exception. We needed to snap some photos rather quickly before the sun was gone. And this was the turn out :D

To be honest, these weren't the photos we had in mind. We both wanted something really dirty, aged, or heavily graffitied to contrast with this girly dress. But of course in typical Orange County fashion everything was too pristine. So what was the next best thing? A restroom!

If you're wondering what Raych was aimlessly looking at, it was people trying to use the restroom.

Disney Daze

If you follow me on any social media outlet (tumblr, twitter, instagram, facebook) then you know that I frequent Disneyland quite often. I've been going there avidly ever since I was about 5 years old. I could tell you many of the little nuisances of Disney that most people wouldn't know.

But unfortunately my love for disneyland is eclipsed by none other than Raych Nguyen, Queen of Disneyland and all the peasants that roam her land and work for her. If Disneyland was a person, it'd be her bitch. I will never forget the time I fainted due to dehydration while waiting in line for the Tower of Terror, causing the wait time to go from 25mins to 60mins. The last thing I remember before passing out was Raych telling me "Don't get sloppy on me" assuming I had a little too much to drink at the bar. The Disney clean up crew removed my lifeless body so fast it was like it didn't happen.

Japanese Tea Garden

Nestled in the middle of Golden Gate Park was this awesome Japanese tea garden. Only a stones throw away from the main city, this little treasure was a nice oasis away from all the city chaos. We went from watching hobos talking to themselves to koi fish swimming beneath our feet. It was a rather abrupt change of pace, but a really pleasant one for sure. The combination of tall trees, dojos, arched bridges, and lingering clouds really made me feel like I wasn't in California anymore.

If you ever plan on visiting you must try the green tea and mochi (seen in the pictures above). It was really nice enjoying your tea in what seemed to be a pretty authentic Japanese garden. It's probably all just smoke and mirrors and some fancy ply wood but it sure had me fooled!

Blue Botte Coffee

When I last went to San Francisco the first thing my friend suggested we do was visit Blue Bottle Coffee. Initially I couldn't get my mind off the male anatomy that is often referred to as blue. When ever anyone said Blue Bottle, all I heard was blue balls.

Despite my 15 year old mental block, I was very much open to the idea. If you know me at all, you know that I love all things cafe. I love reading books, surfing the internet, and editing photos and cafes are a great place for that.

After walking for about 15 minutes, we finally reached Blue Balls Coffee, or I mean Blue Bottle Coffee on Mint Plaza. Immediately, I knew we hit the jackpot because the line wrapped around the building. Now this may sound a little cocaine addict of me but the longer the line the better!

While waiting, I was repeatedly told to order the Kyoto but my better self told me that anything with a Japanese name has to be intense.  Thus, I opted instead for the latte (3rd picture). I had a sip of my friends Kyoto and as usual my intuition was right because it literally tasted like battery acid.  That cup of coffee will probably keep you running for hours, if not days. Regardless, my experience was really awesome. Cement floors, white brick walls, tall industrial windows all make for a very cozy coffee shop. A great way to start your morning.

They also sell food. Due to budgeting issues I didn't have any myself but from a far it looked good!

Obligatory First Post

So I decided to start a blogspot for the sole purpose of being able to write more and bombard all of you with my relentless sarcasm. I love tumblr and how easy it is to share photos but I just don't like that I can't really create posts the way I want to. Despite the old saying "a picture is worth 1,000 words," sometimes you need 2,000 words to get the full story.

Be forewarned, I've never won a spelling bee or paid any attention during grammar. So what might appear to be an acohol induced stream of consciousness is actually me being eloquent.

Other than that warning, I don't really know what else to say. These obligatory first posts are always so awkward. It's like we're on a first date and you're trying to figure me out.

Alright folks, please excuse my brevity it's been a long night, but I hope I left a good first impression nonetheless. Maybe I can I take you out on a second date?
